99 Only Finds 8/12!

I got to stop by the 99 Only twice this week. I love checking out different stores in my area so I went to the north phoenix and downtown locations. Each had it's own unique deals. I decided to show both here to give you a better idea of what you can find around Phoenix.

Clothing, Toys and Housewares

Last week we saw some great children's bathing suits, but this week is for the ladies! I searched and searched for my size in the bras below, but no luck :( The savings are awesome; these still sell for $4.77 at Walmart. I also found packs of athletic socks for the guys and trouser socks for ladies' work wear. Over to housewares, I found clocks, candles and paintings to decorate your home. And for your kids, soccer balls and FIDGET SPINNERS! lol.

Fresh Produce and Bread

I found all kinds of produce from grapes, celery, squash, carrots, snap peas and more. Lots of bread were also available from Nature's Own, Roman Meal, to Wonder Bread

Refrigerated

More 20oz lunch meat packs will have you set for school lunches. and Oscar Mayer's Smokies were 3 for $.99! Also, you may find Chobani yogurt packs in various flavors.

Grocery

There was so much going on here from Gluten Free cake mixes, Gluten Free snack packs, to Kix cereal, organic tortilla chips, Libby's canned veggies, and cold brew coffee. Terra's sweet potato and apple chips are delicious, btw!

99 Only Finds 7/28

It's a muggy day here in Phoenix, so I decided to stretch my legs at my local 99 Only. With all this extreme heat we've had, I think the cloudy weather was a welcome change for everyone, because the store was busy, busy, busy! Still, lots of deals to be had.

Summer and Back to School

There were some great seasonal items including children's bathing suits for $3.99, yoga mats for $2.99, and lunch coolers for $1.99. This price is a steal, as you may have seen this same brand at Walmart for $9.99 this week! Plus, Americana and Fourth of July items were marked down to $0.25 each. I grabbed two insulated cups for $0.50 - what a bargain!

Fresh Produce

The produce was well stocked this morning with artisan lettuce (my hubby's favorite), salad mixes, coleslaw mixes, snap peas, Bolthouse sliced carrots, bell peppers, peeled garlic, whole garlic, grapes (red, black and green), strawberries and more. All marked $0.99 or $0.99 lb.

Refrigerated

If you're planning to BBQ this week, the mega packs of Oscar Mayer hot dogs and smoked sausages were on sale for $0.99. Don't forget to check out the bread aisle for buns; the bread was restocked too! I also found lunch meat, frozen meals, and multi packs of yogurt for $0.99 each.

Down the Food Aisles

Brand name treats like Premium saltines, Cheez-it filled crackers, Nilla Waffers and Triscuts are perfect for snacking on the cheap. Plus, breakfast is covered with Cascadian Farms Organic breakfast bars, Nutri-Grain bars, Capin Cruch, Trix, Cookie Crisp, and French Toast cereals.

So after my rant post yesterday on how I love dollar stores, I decided I needed to take a trip to my local 99! I hadn't shopped in a while and my pantry was begging for some good finds, lol. 9 Big Misconceptions Shopping at the Dollar Stores!

Last night, I was reading one of my favorite bloggers when I saw her most recent post, 7 Reasons You Should Never Shop the Dollar Stores. What? Never?!? I was shocked. Y'all know I'm a big advocate for the dollar stores. It has saved my family a small fortune over the years! I love walking in to the 99 Cent Only and getting items on my weekly shopping list. As a coupon blogger, I would have believed other extreme couponers would love the dollar stores as much as I do, but as I have found, it's not usually the case.

I understand shopping at stores like the 99 Only or Dollar Tree have their own ebb and flow. You can't shop there like you do a "regular" grocery store, but there are some simple ideas that anyone can easily follow to get more savings on their grocery bill (all without coupons).

1. Sizes are smaller. Sizes might be smaller on some things, but that doesn't mean you're getting more for your money when you buy a bigger item at another store. Visually sizing up a item can be misleading. This is why you must know your products and compare. For example, I'll often find a 7 oz bag of chips at the dollar store for $1.00, but 9 - 12 oz bags at other stores for $2.00 to $3.00! The bag often looks bigger, but in this case the dollar store is a better buy. To know if you're getting a good deal, it's easy to find the price per ounce. Simply, divide the price by the ounces printed on the bag. The smaller the price per ounce, the better the deal.

2. You impulse purchase. This is a bit silly. I'm going to be frank; if you're likely to "impulse buy" at the dollar store, you're going to do it at any store. I never go shopping without a shopping list or budget in mind, even at the 99 Only! It's important to stay on budget, so make sure everything you buy has a purpose in mind.
