As you probably noticed from my other recipes I've posted, I am all about the easy dinner. I do not like fuss when it comes to putting together a meal at the end of the day. And isn't it nice when you just have a few ingredients?
You should see my pantry. It is set up with staple food groups so that I can just grab a few ingredients and go! Cooking becomes simple when you learn the "gorilla tactics" of the kitchen, lol. But that's for a later post. Back to this recipe. It's so simple and tasty. You can easily customize it to be gluten-free or not. Check it out:
Velveeta Chili Mac
Serves: 5 peopleTotal Time: 20 minutes
What you'll need:
Ground beef
Noodles (of your choosing)
Hormel Chili - 1 can
Velveeta, small - 1 stick
Diced tomatoes - 1 can, optional
Spices - to taste
- In a large pot, cook noodles as directed on package. As you can see, I used penne pasta, but it was just what we had on hand. Macaroni, spirals, etc will do.
- In a skillet brown ground beef. Season to taste. I like to add Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and onion powder when I cook any ground beef. It really enhances the flavor. Any seasoning that you and your family enjoy will do. Drain grease from beef, set aside.
- At this point your noodles should be ready to drain. After rinsing, set them aside in the strainer. You'll want to use the large pot for the next step.
- Dice Velveeta into cubes, add to empty pot. Set to med-high. Add chili, ground beef and tomatoes, cook until thoroughly heated creating a sauce
- Add noodles and fold into sauce.
- Serve and enjoy!
